The Legend of Zelda: The Twilight Princess Review
The Legend of Zelda: The Twilight Princess Review
Released on both Gamecube and Wii The Legend of Zelda: The Twilight Princess is the latest game in the Zelda series. A new Zelda game is always greeted with much fanfare as along with Mario Link is one of Nintendos most loved creations. So any new game has a lot to live to. Though this game has extra pressure on it because of the decision mid production to release it on the Wii. As one of the most enjoyable parts of these type of games is the story i’m just goping to give a brief overview so nothing is spoiled for you.
Nintendo are well know for there family friendly gaming so it comes as a welcome surprise to discover that this is a much darker adventure for Link. In fact it is the first game in the series to receive a T rating. Early on Link becoming trapped in the Twilight and as you probably already know he’s in wolf form. So the first task is to get him back to normal. This probably sounds very familiar as it’s similar to the opening of Majora’s Mask. Later on in the adventure you can switch between wolf and human form at will. With each offering different ability’s. For example while in wolf form you can use the sense of small to find hidden items.
Both versions of The Legend of Zelda: The Twilight Princess have advantages over the other in regards to the controls. Those who have played the Wind Walker will be instantly at home as the controls are pretty much the same. Which is great as it allows you to hit the ground running. Though the Wii controls are also good but take some getting used to before you’re fully comfortable. Though making the gestures for the sword swipes does provide an extra level of immersion. Along with which the Wii remote makes aiming a breeze, giving you pin point accuracy.
One of Ninitendo’s strengths has always been it’s music and while the music in Twilight Princess is excellent they’ve missed a trick. As surely now it’s time to have fully voiced characters instead of speech bubbles. Though this doesn’t take away from the story.
If you’re a fan of the Zelda games then no doubt you’ve already picked up your copy of The Legend of Zelda: The Twilight Princess. But for those who were on the fence perhaps due to fact there are two versions of the game go out and buy it now. As it’s just as good if not better than Ocarina of Time.
